130 years of history. A renewed responsibility for the future.

This was the starting point for a gathering that brought together, on the same stage, representatives from science, the public sector, academia, and the business community, as part of the 130th anniversary of Caixa Económica da Misericórdia de Angra do Heroísmo, chaired by Dr. António Maio.

SFgo actively participated in the co-organization of this event, contributing to the creation of a space for reflection and alignment around the challenges of the climate transition.

The programme reflected an integrated approach, grounded in complementary perspectives.

The scientific dimension provided an in-depth understanding of the Azores’ natural richness and the climate challenges that require informed and sustained responses.

The institutional perspective outlined regional priorities, responsibilities, and possible pathways, reinforcing the role of public policy in addressing environmental challenges.

Academia highlighted knowledge as a critical foundation for more informed and consistent decision-making.

The banking perspective emphasized its role as a partner to companies in building a more responsible and sustainable future.

Finally, the perspective of economic stakeholders offered a practical view of the business landscape and its contribution to the transition.

For SFgo, this gathering reflects what we stand for:
complex challenges cannot be addressed in isolation, but through alignment, commitment, and joint action.

More than a commemorative event, this was a moment of convergence between those who generate knowledge, those who define strategic direction, and those who execute on the ground.

The climate transition requires coherence, collaboration, and, above all, the ability to translate knowledge into action.
